Silence In Between

Ray Sinclair
Dec 28, 2020

Owls sing arias merge in chilled night air.

Outwits all, fox slinks home, secluded lair

Field mice scurry, rustles copper blemished fall.

Nightingales recite songs, echoes dusks mating call

Wispy white breath, whispered sigh.

Trees like ridged watchmen under darkening sky

Footsteps fall, crisp, crunching pace.

Scarf thrown , wrapped reddened face

Sombre sound, doleful howl strikes the night.

Listen, just ahead, out of sight

Walks beside chattering stream, beats a silence in between.

Inner reflections whisper through.

Collar up, foggy dew.
